We are currently seeking a dependable, detail-oriented MIG & TIG Welder to join our growing production floor.
Job Summary
As a MIG and TIG Welder, you will work on a variety of projects requiring both high-speed fabrication and clean, artistic finishes.
You will switch seamlessly between heavy structural MIG welding on carbon steel and meticulous, aesthetically demanding TIG welding on aluminum and stainless steel.
Core Responsibilities
- Welding: Perform high-quality MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) welds on aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical engineering drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols accurately.
- Fabrication & Prep: Cut, grind, clean, square up, and clamp metal components prior to welding.
- Machine Setup: Calibrate welding machines, voltage, wire feed speed, amperage, and gas flow rates for various material thicknesses.
- Quality Control: Inspect your own completed welds for cracks, porosity, and uniformity; use angle grinders or files to clean finishes.
- Safety First: Adhere strictly to shop safety guidelines, including the proper use of required PPE and machine guards.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience: Experience of professional welding experience handling both MIG and TIG processes.
- Testing: Ability to pass an in-house hands-on welding test (flat, vertical, and horizontal positions).
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency reading blueprints, tape measures, and calipers.
- Physical Demands: Able to lift, stand for long periods, and maintain a steady hand for precise torch control.
- Certification: AWS or ASME certification is highly preferred but not mandatory if skills are demonstrated.
