Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and popular primary school in the Wigan area to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher for a 2-term cover starting in September 2026.

Your new role
As a Year 2 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and creative lessons aligned with the Key Stage 1 curriculum, with a strong focus on early reading, phonics, and pupil development.
You will need to work closely with other teachers over the 2-terms and make sure to prepare these children for transitioning into Key Stage 2.
Key Responsibilities

- What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching in Key Stage 1 or Lower Key Stage 2
- Strong understanding of phonics and early literacy development
- The ability to engage and inspire young learners
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
