Your role: As HR&OD Support Assistant (Front Door), you’ll be at the heart of delivering a responsive and customer-focused HR and Organisational Development service. Acting as a first point of contact for employees, managers, schools and external partners, you’ll provide high-quality administrative support across a wide range of HR&OD activities. You’ll coordinate meetings, events and training, maintain systems and records, manage enquiries and support key workforce initiatives. Working closely with colleagues across HR, OD, schools and corporate services, you’ll help ensure an excellent customer experience while contributing to continuous service improvement.
About you: You’ll be an organised and proactive individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and providing excellent customer service. With strong communication and interpersonal skills, you’ll be confident managing enquiries, prioritising competing tasks and building positive relationships with a range of stakeholders. You’ll be keen to learn and do things differently, embrace new challenges and contribute to improving the way we do things.
About us: You’ll join a forward-thinking HR & OD service at an exciting point of transformation, helping shape a modern, people-centred offer that supports our workforce and communities to flourish. At Team Wigan, we're committed to creating a positive employee experience, embracing innovation and continuously improving how we work. It is our priority to ensure that the role is fulfilled effectively and while there is some flexibility to work from home when service delivery allows, the expectation is that staff will attend the workplace for a minimum of two days per week. However, depending on service requirements, you may be required to work your full contractual hours on site at Council buildings and/or community venues.
