Role information:
- Deliver high-quality safety consultancy across the full lifecycle of complex, highly regulated projects for a range of clients.
- Produce and lead the development of nuclear safety documentation, ensuring technical excellence and quality throughout all deliverables.
- Provide safety advice within multidisciplinary project teams, working alongside engineers, human factors specialists and other technical disciplines.
- Develop clear, robust and well-reasoned safety arguments to support safety cases and regulatory compliance.
- Carry out technical checking and verification to ensure compliance, quality and completeness of documentation.
- Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to manage technical progress and support governance and assurance processes.
- Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships across projects.
- Support business development activities by identifying opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
- Deliver work to agreed timescales and budgets while maintaining high standards of technical excellence and customer service.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
- Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Science or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' professional engineering or technical specialist experience within a highly regulated industry such as nuclear, defence, aerospace, rail, oil & gas, chemicals or pharmaceuticals.
- Experience producing, reviewing or supporting complex safety cases, technical justifications or regulatory submissions.
- Good understanding of safety case production processes, risk assessment methodologies and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in one or more of the following would be advantageous: Human factors, Licensing and regulatory compliance, Process or functional safety.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly to a range of stakeholders.
