An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate Band 3 Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join the team at Whalley Learning Disability Service.

The post involves working within a single person occupancy setting, supporting an individual with learning disabilities and complex needs to achieve positive outcomes and maintain independence in a safe, therapeutic environment.

  • Experience working in a health, care, or support setting.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Compassionate, patient, and professional approach to care.
  • Flexible approach to shift patterns, including weekends and nights if required.
  • Experience supporting people with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Understanding of person-centred care and safeguarding principles.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support.

Assist with daily living activities, personal care, and promoting independence.

Support engagement in meaningful activities and community access.

Work alongside nursing staff and the multidisciplinary team to implement care plans.

Observe and report changes in physical health, mental wellbeing, or behaviour.

Maintain accurate documentation and records.
