This is a varied, hands-on role at the heart of a vibrant community campus. As a Facilities Assistant, you will support the day-to-day operation of the building, ensuring that facilities, equipment, and spaces are safe, clean, and ready for use. This role may require the post holder to work at other NSC Corporate Landlord maintained buildings.

Working within a corporate landlord environment, you will interact with a wide range of customers and stakeholders, delivering excellent service while carrying out room setups, minor repairs, building checks, and responding to requests from staff, teachers, community users, and partner organisations. No two days are the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, problem-solving, and helping people.

Key responsibilities:

  • Answering radio calls and responding to emails from Campus staff relating to daily issues such as building faults, waste removal, room set ups.
  • First line maintenance to include activities such as lamp replacements, unblocking toilets, putting up noticeboards and assembling furniture.
  • Reporting of building faults via our Facilities Helpdesk and following up on tasks logged to ensure works have been completed in a timely manner.
  • Carry out site safety checks and undertake porterage duties.
  • Basic outdoor upkeep (litter picking, gritting paths).
  • Travelling to Corporate Landlord maintained sites and carrying out compliance checks or soft FM duties.
  • Support CL Team with ensuring compliance with Health & Safety Regs.

This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.
