The Best Connection West Bromwich is recruiting on behalf of a respected and established client in West Bromwich for an experienced Class 1 HGV Driver to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure ongoing work delivering aluminium trunking to electrical wholesalers and construction sites throughout the UK, with immediate starts available for the right candidate.
The Role
- As a Class 1 Driver, you'll play a vital role in ensuring products are delivered safely and efficiently while representing a highly regarded business.
Your Responsibilities:
- 2-5 deliveries per day across the UK
- Delivering aluminium trunking to electrical wholesalers and building sites
- Opening and closing curtain-sided trailers
- Securing loads safely using straps
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
- Maintaining compliance with Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive, and tachograph regulations
- Following all health and safety procedures and road transport legislation
- Providing a professional service to customers at every delivery point
Start times between 04:00 and 06:00, Monday to Friday. FLT unloading at customer sites means no heavy unloading duties for drivers.
What We're Looking For
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence
- Driver CPC Qualification
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous Class 1 driving experience
- Experience securing loads with straps is advantageous
- Professional attitude and strong commitment to safety
