The Best Connection West Bromwich is recruiting on behalf of a respected and established client in West Bromwich for an experienced Class 1 HGV Driver to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure ongoing work delivering aluminium trunking to electrical wholesalers and construction sites throughout the UK, with immediate starts available for the right candidate.

The Role

  • As a Class 1 Driver, you'll play a vital role in ensuring products are delivered safely and efficiently while representing a highly regarded business.

Your Responsibilities:

  • 2-5 deliveries per day across the UK
  • Delivering aluminium trunking to electrical wholesalers and building sites
  • Opening and closing curtain-sided trailers
  • Securing loads safely using straps
  • Carrying out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
  • Maintaining compliance with Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive, and tachograph regulations
  • Following all health and safety procedures and road transport legislation
  • Providing a professional service to customers at every delivery point

Start times between 04:00 and 06:00, Monday to Friday. FLT unloading at customer sites means no heavy unloading duties for drivers.

What We're Looking For

  • Valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence
  • Driver CPC Qualification
  • Digital Tachograph Card
  • Previous Class 1 driving experience
  • Experience securing loads with straps is advantageous
  • Professional attitude and strong commitment to safety

£16.00 per hour

£24.00 per hour after 8 hours worked each day
