An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Employment Specialist to join the Future's Positive IPS Service in secondary adult mental health services. This established service provides opportunities for service users to find and retain employment.
The post holder will lead a small team of Employment Specialists who are based alongside the clinicians in the Local Mental Health Teams in Gelding, Rushcliffe, Broxtowe and Hucknall. You will support Employment Specialists to deliver high fidelity IPS service, drive outstanding outcomes and help people with mental health needs secure meaningful and sustainable work across Nottinghamshire.
The post holder will manage a small caseload of service users who are motivated to seek and retain work. You will lead the Employment Specialists to deliver a high quality IPS service in line with fidelity. You will supervise and mentor the Employment Specialists which includes monitoring key performance indicators and outcomes. You will proactively engage with employers and develop a network to open and secure employment opportunities for service users.
Will be responsible for leading the Employment Specialists within the Local Mental Health Teams. Will ensure the effective delivery of all work is in line with the IPS principles. Will build and promote strong relationships and enable effective links between employers and other agencies, including Job Centre Plus, to support delivery of a personalised client focused service. Will ensure that the service is comprehensive and accessible to all service users who want to access paid employment. Will ensure that the service is equitable and non-discriminatory in terms of age, gender, ethnicity, and disability.
Will hold a caseload of clients. Will ensure staff maintain outcome data as per service agreement. Data will also need to be collected in order to inform the evaluation of the service. Will ensure supervision is provided monthly and provide case management on a regular basis in accordance with the relevant professional guidelines and policies. Will support the LMHT staff in making appropriate referrals and in carrying out the employment aspects of their own roles. Will ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed, including Vocational profiles, pre- and post-employment action plans.
Will develop a ‘knowledge’ of the locality and its services and facilities, particularly in relation to mental health. Will ensure that staff participate in the setting and review of objectives for their post on an annual basis. Will ensure that staff participate in activities of ‘continuing professional development’ (CPD) on an annual basis. Will participate in fidelity reviews, audits of clinical activity and evaluative research as required. The post holder will attend locally organised and national training appropriate to the work role.
A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post however reasonable adjustment will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010. Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa. Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.
