Senior Biomedical Scientist-Training Lead
To be proficient an all designated areas of diagnostic work within the department and to provide a comprehensive and appropriate laboratory service to patients and staff. To undertake a wide range of diagnostic tests and screening procedures through to initial interpretation. To ensure that test procedures are carried out according to SOPs, assess that other junior staff are competent and participate in their regular review and update. To maintain and develop documentation relating to training eg SOPs, training plans, competence assessment documents and tasks for generic and specialist portfolios. To organise and encourage staff to take a keen interest in the training of junior members of staff. To document completion of competence assessments in a training matrix for each member of staff and review regularly to keep this up to date as possible. Oversee Mandatory training in order to achieve departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
