Are you interested in working with children to ensure healthy outcomes for all? Would you like to be part of a friendly, innovative Public Health Nursing team 5-19? We have a permanent post available for a Clinical Support Worker, based at The Avenue Clinic in Watford. You would be working across the Watford, Three Rivers and Hertsmere locality.

This post is suitable for people with NVQ level 3 in Early Years or Childcare (BTEC, NNEB, CACHE Diploma) or previous experience as a Clinical Support Worker formally known as a Healthy Child and Young Person assistant.

This position advertised will be to assist in the delivery of the universal Healthy Child and Public Health Nursing Programme as part of the Hertfordshire Family Center Service. You will be working under the supervision of a Public Health Nurse in helping to improve the health & well-being of our school population. The main role is to plan, organise & undertake routine screening of hearing & vision of reception children plus participating in measuring children in reception class & Year 6 as part of the National Child Measurement Programme.

  • Has implemented two health websites for use by children, young people, families & professionals

The successful candidates will:

  • Be a team player and also be able to work independently
  • Have excellent communication skills to use with children and young people plus a variety of clients, professionals & staff
  • Have experience of electronic record keeping (this would be an advantage although full training will be given)
  • Have a full valid driving licence and access to a car to use for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

We are looking for candidates that can work 22.5 hours a week on an annualised hours contract ie: working more in the term time and less in the school holidays. Working pattern will be set in advance with the team leader and staff member taking into account the service demand.
