Cornerstone Healthcare is proud to be an award-winning provider of specialist care, and we’re looking for a dedicated Laundry Assistant to join our supportive team at South Africa Lodge. South Africa Lodge is a 99-bed home providing exceptional care across six specialised units. We support residents living with complex needs, including neuro-degenerative conditions, dementia, and mental health challenges. What You’ll Bring
- Minimum of 6 months experience with laundry in a care setting
- Ability to work alone, as well as in a team and form positive relationships with colleagues, residents, and visitors
- Positive attitude towards residents
- Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Previous experience working in laundry in a care home (desirable)
Your Working Pattern
Working for us gives you more time for you with a 7 out of 14 day working pattern:
- Week 1 – 3 days: (07.00 to 17.00)
- Week 2 – 4 days: (07.00 to 17.00)
Total average of 30 hours per week.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Laundering and ironing a range of materials including residents' personal clothing as well as bedding and kitchen linen
- Ensure that all bed, table, and kitchen linen is laundered to a satisfactory standard
- Keep the laundry area clean and maintain separate areas for freshly laundered and soiled articles
- To segregate and distribute resident’s clothing and linen as requested
- Complying with regulations including COSHH, Environmental Health, and Fire Procedures
- Abide by the Company’s health and safety policy specifically in the handling of soiled materials
