Berrow Ward is located on Level 1 of the Weston Site of UHBW. The ward is 28-bedded and cares for patients requiring general medical input with a ward speciality of Respiratory Medicine. We frequently care for acutely unwell individuals requiring level 2 care such as non-invasive ventilation; consequently, the environment can be busy with high levels of MDT present.
As a Ward Clerk within this unit, you will play a key role in supporting the clinical and multidisciplinary teams by providing efficient clerical and administrative support. You will be responsible for managing the ward reception, assisting with admissions, discharges, and patient flow. Working in this fast-paced, high acuity environment requires excellent organisational and communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to liaise effectively with teams across the hospital.

This is a key supportive role, working closely with the clinical nursing team to ensure the ward operates efficiently and provides a welcoming, well-organised environment for patients, relatives, and staff. You will be responsible for managing the ward reception, greeting and assisting patients and visitors, and ensuring all clerical and administrative tasks are kept up to date.
The ideal candidate will be flexible, adaptable, and highly organised, with excellent communication skills. You will liaise with multidisciplinary teams across the hospital and work collaboratively with nursing staff to support the smooth day-to-day running of the department.
