Are you calm, organised and passionate about supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autism? Brooklands Hospital is a highly specialist hospital home to several specialist secure/non-secure wards, caring for people with learning disabilities and/or autism. Together, we make an incredible difference to people’s lives, but our patients can sometimes become distressed, which can be upsetting to see. Our ward and staff teams are highly skilled to manage these situations and ensure the wellbeing of both patients and staff across our wards. This is a busy and varied role where you will need to manage multiple tasks, respond to changing priorities, and remain professional and approachable in a fast-paced ward environment. We’re looking for a Ward Clerk who is calm, friendly, and proactive – people who understand the importance of a warm welcome and can help keep our busy wards running smoothly. This is more than an admin role – you’ll be a key part of the team supporting individuals with complex needs, helping to create a positive and safe environment for both patients and staff.
What you’ll do:
- Greet visitors and professionals in a calm, respectful way
- Front of house reception duties
- Handle ward admin and support daily operations
- Help create a safe, supportive environment for patients with LD&A
- Be a key team member in a busy, rewarding setting
- Scanning and uploading important documents and data accurately and promptly
- Helping to keep records accurate and up to date.
