As a Ward Catering Assistant with Sodexo at Nuffield Health York Hospital, you’ll play an important role in delivering delicious meals and a positive experience to patients, staff, and visitors.

What You’ll Do
- Deliver a friendly, high-quality meal service to patients, ensuring dignity, care and excellent customer service.
- Prepare, assemble and serve patient meals accurately, including special dietary requirements.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and infection prevention in line with hospital and company policies.
- Complete food temperature checks, quality records and other required documentation accurately.
- Keep ward kitchens, catering equipment and work areas clean, safe and well stocked.
- Support stock rotation, waste reduction and the safe transportation of food trolleys.
- Work as part of a team, following instructions and helping with other catering duties as required
What You Bring
- Previous experience in a similar role or willingness to learn
- A positive, reliable and caring approach, with a genuine desire to provide excellent service to patients.
- Good communication and listening skills, with the ability to work well as part of a team.
- The ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and work efficiently.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
- Good timekeeping, reliability and a flexible approach to supporting the team.
- A willingness to learn and complete required training, including maintaining mandatory standards.
- A Food Safety Level 2 certificate (or equivalent), or a willingness to achieve this.
