The Role As Care Home Deputy Manager (Nursing)
As Care Home Deputy Manager (Nursing), you will support the day-to-day management of the service while providing visible clinical leadership to nursing and care teams.
Responsibilities include
- Supporting the Home Manager with the operational and clinical management of the home.
- Leading, mentoring and developing nurses and care staff to deliver outstanding resident care.
- Ensuring care plans are accurate, person-centred and regularly reviewed.
- Overseeing medication management, audits, documentation and clinical compliance.
- Conducting assessments, risk reviews and pre-admission evaluations.
- Promoting a positive culture focused on dignity, choice, wellbeing and quality outcomes.
- Building strong relationships with families, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
- Taking responsibility for the service in the absence of the Home Manager and ensuring ongoing compliance with CQC standards.
Skills and Experience

- Current NMC registration and relevant nursing experience.
- Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Clinical Lead, Unit Manager or similar leadership role within elderly care or nursing home settings.
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, clinical governance and safeguarding procedures.
- Experience leading teams and driving high standards of care delivery.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with residents, families and healthcare professionals.
