Temporary Accommodation Placement Officer - Housing
Prevent homelessness by negotiating with households facing eviction and exploring suitable alternatives to temporary accommodation.
Assess the housing circumstances and immediate accommodation needs of households experiencing homelessness.
Arrange suitable temporary accommodation placements for eligible homeless households.
Manage temporary accommodation placements, including transfers, extensions and changes where required.
Work closely with residents to understand their needs and provide appropriate housing support.
Liaise with landlords, accommodation providers and external partners to secure suitable accommodation.
Ensure temporary accommodation placements are safe, suitable, compliant and cost effective.
Monitor existing placements and address issues relating to property standards, suitability, repairs or resident concerns.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of placements, household details, costs and accommodation arrangements.
Use housing IT systems and databases effectively to record information and monitor cases.
Respond promptly to enquiries and provide clear information and advice to households and partner organisations.
Manage competing priorities and a busy caseload while maintaining a high-quality customer-focused service.
Identify and resolve accommodation issues, complaints and placement problems in a timely and professional manner.
Work in accordance with relevant homelessness, housing and safeguarding legislation, Council policies and procedures.
