SEN Teaching Assistant - Resource Provision within a Mainstream Primary School in Walsall | Full-Time (5 Days) & Part-Time (3 Days) Available | September Start

Do you enjoy helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve things they never thought possible? Hays Education is working alongside a fantastic primary school in Walsall that is looking to appoint two caring, patient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join their specialist resource provision.

  • 1 x Full-Time Teaching Assistant (Monday to Friday)
  • 1 x Part-Time Teaching Assistant (3 Days Per Week)

About the Pupils

You could be supporting children with:

  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Sensory processing needs
  • Communication and interaction difficulties

Every child is unique, and the school is looking for staff who can take the time to understand individual needs and help pupils thrive.

Your Responsibilities

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Help children engage with learning activities
  • Encourage positive social interactions and friendships
  • Support behaviour regulation and emotional development
  • Adapt resources and activities to suit individual needs
  • Work closely with teachers, the SEND team and outside agencies
  • Promote independence and self-confidence

We Would Love to Hear From You If You Have:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
  • A calm, compassionate and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting SEND pupils
