Hays Education are working in partnership with a well-regarded primary school in Walsall that places children at the heart of everything they do.

With a strong commitment to inclusion, high aspirations, creativity and developing confident learners, the school is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Reception Teacher to join their Early Years team from September 2026 for the full academic year.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced EYFS Teacher or a passionate Reception Teacher who enjoys creating engaging learning experiences and supporting children through a crucial stage of their education.

Your new role

You will

  • Teach a Reception class on a full-time basis
  • Plan and deliver engaging EYFS lessons that support all areas of learning and development
  • Create a stimulating, safe and nurturing learning environment
  • Deliver high-quality phonics teaching to support early reading and language development
  • Assess, monitor and track children's progress within the EYFS Framework
  • Work closely with support staff, parents and the wider school community
  • Attend staff meetings and contribute positively to school life
  • Benefit from allocated PPA time and support from the wider team
  • What you'll need to succeed
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Recent experience teaching within EYFS, ideally in a Reception class
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS Framework
  • Phonics training and experience delivering phonics programmes
  • Ability to plan, prepare and assess effectively
  • A nurturing and child-centred approach to teaching
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
