Walsall College is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Lecturer in Carpentry and Joinery to inspire and develop the next generation of construction professionals.
You will deliver engaging practical and classroom-based teaching, support apprentices and students to achieve their full potential, and work closely with employers to ensure training meets industry needs.

- Teaching or training experience, or a willingness to gain a teaching qualification.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.

- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).

Walsall College takes part in the Targeted Retention Incentive (TRI) scheme, a Department for Education initiative that provides financial incentives of up to £6,000 to eligible further education (FE) teachers working in priority subject areas.
Eligible teachers must be within the first five years of their FE teaching career and teach specific courses in areas such as construction, chemistry, computing and digital, early years, engineering and manufacturing, maths, and physics.
Payments range from £2,000 to £6,000 depending on teaching hours and the provider’s profile, with higher amounts available for institutions serving greater proportions of disadvantaged learners.
This post may be eligible for the Targeted Retention Incentive, subject to meeting the scheme’s eligibility criteria.
