Our client, a reputable family-run independent automotive accident repair centre based in Bristol, has an immediate vacancy for a Vehicle Damage Assessor.
This is a rare opportunity to join a well-established company operating since 1972, working with prestigious vehicles and offering a career with excellent rewards and development prospects.
- Competitive starting salary between £40,000 and £47,000 per annum, dependent on experience
- 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays

- Monday to Friday working hours, 8:30am to 5:00pm (40-hour week)
Duties of a Vehicle Damage Assessor
- Produce manual and computerised estimates in line with insurer and customer requirements
- Ensure vehicle repairs are carried out efficiently, maintaining profitability
- Maintain detailed records of all estimates, identifying and managing unauthorised work
- Secure authorisation for work outside standard estimates and follow up on outstanding approvals
- Liaise with the bodyshop team to communicate repair specifications clearly
- Advise on vehicles deemed as “total loss” in accordance with insurance and company policies
- Adhere to all applicable Health and Safety regulations
- Maintain compliance with insurer guidelines and customer care standards
Requirements of a Vehicle Damage Assessor
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor
- Strong knowledge of vehicle estimating processes
- Ideally Audatex trained/qualified
- Automotive Technical Accreditation (ATA) or manufacturer training is advantageous but not essential
- Experience with Autoflow Bodyshop Management System is a plus
- Valid UK driving licence with minimal points
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
