We are currently looking for a full time van driver to join a family business in Burgess Hill
They deliver Chinese food products to restaurants and take away establishments.
You will be offered a trial day, as well as a 1 month probation period.
The Ideal Candidate Must
- Be aware of the journey, including reasonable delivery routes, and take into account any timed drops or other irregularities.
- Check vehicles in accordance with the driver's daily checklist and take necessary steps prior to departure.
- Load goods/products according to customer orders and ensure that pallets are securely wrapped for delivery.
- Maintain regular communication with the office.
- Review the delivery with the consignee to ensure it is accurate
- Unloads goods safely and efficiently at the customer's premises, always in a considerate and courteous manner taking into account the care and concern for the public at all times.
- Obtain confirmation of delivery from the customer
- Report all paperwork and payment receipts to the office at the end of each day.
- Comply with traffic laws and schedule work hours and driving breaks as required.
- Understand and follow the company's vehicle breakdown procedures.
- Remove all personal belongings and rubbish (cans/bottles etc.) from the vehicle's cabin on return.
- Ensure that the vehicle is fully fuelled on return.
- Keep management informed of all vehicle defects and repair requirements as soon as possible through the driver's daily checklist.
- Help to keep our delivery fleet clean and in good working order at all times.
- Assist in the warehouse when required.
The hours for this role will be Monday - Friday, 6am starts.
It may consist of working overtime, so being able to be flexible is beneficial.
During the probation period, the pay will be £12.71, it will then increase due to consideration of experience and work ethic.
