We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an experienced contract leader to manage and grow utility arboriculture contracts, overseeing safe, efficient and commercially successful delivery from planning and mobilisation through to completion.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Utility Arboriculture Contracts Manager to take ownership of utility arboriculture contracts, working closely with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

As the Utility Arboriculture Contracts Manager you will manage the full contract lifecycle, including planning, mobilisation, delivery, commercial control, customer service, health and safety and completion. The Utility Arboriculture Contracts Manager will also support contract retention and growth, maintain strong client relationships, guide operational teams and contribute to continuous improvement across the business.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Utility Arboriculture Contracts Manager include:

  • Contract Development: Build and maintain strong, profitable utility sector contracts, developing long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
  • Client Relationships: Identify new business opportunities and support contract retention, growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance to surveyors and operational staff, supporting project delivery and helping resolve operational challenges.
  • Contract Delivery: Oversee contracts from initial planning and mobilisation through to completion, ensuring smooth delivery at every stage.
  • Procurement and Sourcing: Obtain competitive quotations for materials and subcontract services, working closely with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Commercial Control: Take ownership of contract budgets, monitor project spend, address variances and ensure timely invoicing.
  • Health and Safety: Prepare and implement RAMS and work packs in line with contract and compliance requirements.
  • Resource Coordination: Coordinate plant, materials, staffing and other resources to support safe and efficient contract delivery.
  • Training Coordination: Ensure team members hold up-to-date training and certifications, raising training requests with HR when required.
  • Reporting and Communication: Provide regular updates to senior management and commercial teams, highlighting risks, issues and opportunities.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to operational improvements, recommending and implementing enhancements to processes and procedures.
  • Customer Focus: Ensure all interactions with end users and members of the public are courteous, professional and handled in line with customer service standards.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Strong experience in utility arboriculture or utility arboriculture contract management. Proven ability to manage complex contracts from planning through to completion. Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets, costs and financial performance. Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills. Ability to build effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams. Good understanding of RAMS, health and safety requirements and operational compliance. Confident managing resources, priorities, risks and project delivery challenges. Commitment to safety, quality, customer service and continuous improvement.
