A vacancy has arisen for a Healthcare Support Worker within the Urology Department. We are looking for a caring and professional individual with excellent communication skills, a positive and proactive approach, and a commitment to delivering high standards of patient care. You will be a team player who can build effective working relationships and contribute to a supportive and patient-focused environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled and dedicated team of outpatient Urology nurses. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of high-quality care to our patients while developing your own skills and experience. You will need to be flexible in your approach to work, responsive to the needs of the service, and understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality at all times.

As part of the role, you will work closely with doctors and specialist nurses within busy outpatient clinics, providing support to ensure patients receive safe, effective and compassionate care. You will also be responsible for undertaking a variety of clinical procedures, including flow rate studies, bladder scanning and venepuncture, following completion of the required training and competency assessments.

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Substantial recent/current experience of working in a healthcare setting
  • Care Certificate based on the standards set by NHS England, Skills for Care and Skills for Health. This must be gained by working in a vocational capacity (we will not accept an online care certificate).
  • Be able to demonstrate a good standard of numeracy and literacy.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 or Diploma in Health and clinical skills such as venepuncture are desirable.
