The predicted salary is between 25650 - 31350 £ per year.

St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, supporting and enabling them to access and receive physical and mental health first aid. We do this through developing and providing effective community response and outreach services (e.g. Ambulance response) and using our longstanding expertise to empower people with vital clinical skills and the confidence to use them (e.g. our Volunteers and Community Advocates, and Young Responders programmes).
At St John Ambulance, we are dedicated to saving lives and supporting communities through first aid, healthcare, and volunteering. We are looking for an experienced Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser to join our Philanthropy and Partnerships team and play a key role in securing the funding that enables our vital work. Managing and developing a portfolio of trust and statutory funders, you’ll build strong relationships with existing and prospective supporters, securing significant grants that help deliver our strategic priorities, from inspiring programmes with young people to community first aid initiatives.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of our Philanthropy and Partnerships team, using your expertise to identify new opportunities, develop compelling funding proposals, and maximise income from funders capable of making five-figure gifts. Your work will directly support our mission to make communities safer and ensure more people have the skills and confidence to save lives.
You’ll be an experienced and proactive trust fundraiser with a strong track record of securing income from trusts and foundations. You’ll be passionate about building meaningful relationships with funders and using your skills to develop compelling proposals that support St John Ambulance’s mission and strategic priorities.
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
- Proven experience of trust fundraising, with a successful track record of securing grants and developing long-term relationships with trusts and foundation funders.
- The ability to identify and research new funding opportunities, building a strong pipeline of prospective supporters.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create persuasive, engaging, and tailored funding proposals.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Excellent organisational, time management, and prioritisation skills, with a proactive approach and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical skills, alongside confidence using Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems to support effective fundraising activity.
You’ll also be a collaborative team player who is committed to demonstrating St John Ambulance’s HEART values and contributing positively to the continued success of the Philanthropy and Partnerships team.
Secure significant income from trusts and foundations by developing compelling funding applications and managing opportunities, with a focus on gifts of £10k and above.
Research and identify new trust funding opportunities, building and maintaining a strong pipeline of prospective funders to support St John Ambulance’s strategic priorities.
Manage a portfolio of trust donors, developing positive relationships through effective stewardship, timely reporting, and high-quality communications.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to develop strong funding proposals, cases for support, and larger bids that demonstrate the impact of St John Ambulance’s work.
Maintain accurate records of fundraising activity, applications, and donor engagement through St John Ambulance’s CRM system, while providing clear updates and reports on progress.
Support the delivery of excellent fundraising practice by ensuring activities meet relevant compliance, data protection, and ethical fundraising standards while contributing positively to the wider fundraising team.
