An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dental Core Trainee 2 (DCT2) within the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery service at the Royal London Hospital. The post offers broad clinical experience across oral surgery, trauma, orthognathics, oncology, head and neck services, and supervised operating lists.

Based at The Royal London Dental Hospital (outpatient clinics, LA operating and teaching) and the Royal London Hospital (for theatres and on-call). Time will be spent with each specialty firm: Orthognathic/Oral Surgery/Trauma/Oncology.

You will experience:

  • Specialist Outpatient clinics including OMFS Trauma, Orthognathic, oral surgery/orthodontics, Head and Neck, 2-week wait clinics, dysplasia
  • General Oral surgery and OMFS outpatient clinics
  • OMFS & OS general anaesthetic theatre sessions
  • DCT Specialist/Consultant supervised local anaesthetic operating lists
  • Specialist supervised DCT Biopsy list
  • Daytime on-call commitment with appropriate supervision

1:6 weeks On-call on site (8am - 5pm) with support from a resident clinical fellow and the middle grade and consultant grade OMFS on-call team. There is no out of hours or overnight on call in this post. Due to allocation of on-call duties, these posts are not suitable for less-than-full-time (LTFT) trainees.
