The appointee will serve as the Specialty Doctor for individuals being treated within the perinatal pathway, duties will include:

  • Active participation in, and sometimes chairing, a weekly Multi-Disciplinary Team meeting; and attending any relevant additional professionals meetings
  • Regular Outpatient Clinics & Domiciliary Visits
  • In-reaching into local Maternity Units
  • Engagement in Child Protection processes, for example writing reports for and attending Child Protection Conferences
  • Working flexibly in order to respond to clinical emergencies, when appropriate
  • Providing advice and leadership to the team for medication and more complex cases
  • Providing clinical advice, including medication advice, to colleagues working in primary care
