This role is open to all applicants. However, in line with Cornwall First recruitment principles, initial shortlisting will prioritise applicants from Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, and the Integrated Care Board for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
Royal Cornwall Hospitals is the only Acute provider in Cornwall operating from three sites: Royal Cornwall Hospital, St Michael’s Hospital, and West Cornwall Hospital. The Trust provides services from satellite units such as the St Austell Surgical Hub. Our workforce of almost 7,500 staff provide high quality emergency, elective and specialist care across a range of clinical areas.

The Operational Optimisation Manager will be responsible for working with the Associate Director for Operational Optimisation, leading a portfolio of projects that span the Trust, system and national initiatives and directives as required. This will include leading the implementation of service development, service redesign, supporting national requests e.g. winter plans, service planning representing the group with both ICB and regional team. Developing an agreed service improvement plan and trajectory in line with the RCHT strategy, national guidance and best practice.
The Operational Optimisation Manager will be responsible for proactive intervention and decision making to ensure that the Programme and or projects stays on track. The post holder will lead the development, coordination and monitoring of the Programme/projects in a complex change environment and adapt to strategic objectives across the operational delivery areas.
