We are currently hiring for a Trunk Sewer Technician to join our Strategic Pumping & Trunks Operations Team covering North West London.
Day to day, you will be maintaining and operating the sewer network and its associated assets whilst carrying out basic mechanical maintenance and fault-finding.
The work involves confined space access, working in some of London’s most challenging Subterranean areas.
- What you’ll be doing as a Trunk Sewer Technician
- Complete planned, emergency and defect maintenance of the trunk sewer network.
- Physical maintenance of the sewer network and associated assets, e. g. penstock gates.
- Operation of plant and equipment.
- Cleaning, basic maintenance and fault-finding.
- Please note that for this role will be mandatory to work in confined spaces, at heights, and lifting heavy loads; training will be provided.
- Base location: Hammersmith (PS), W6 9RS
Working hours: 38 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 6:30 am – 3:45 pm; with 1 week out of 5 on the night shift from 9:00 pm - 5:30 am; with opportunity to be included on the standby rota, for which you will also receive an additional payment.

To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are
- You must be physically fit and prepared to work in a challenging environment daily, as you will complete manual handling activities to operate large mechanical assets and perform grounds maintenance.
- Have a proactive approach to your work and demonstrate that you can work positively and effectively within a team environment.
- You will need to be a keen and motivated team member, able to demonstrate initiative and a flexible approach to work.
- For health and safety reasons, you will be required to be clean-shaven to wear respiratory protective equipment (RPE) correctly.
Additional skills and experiences would be great to have/bring
- Previous experience in maintenance or a similar role would be advantageous.
- A valid UK driving licence is ideal but not essential; HGV training can be provided.
