This role will be within our clean water team.

Safeguarding the quality, reliability, and performance of drinking water across our region.

We work across complex network systems, enhancing, maintaining, installing, and repairing infrastructure from pipes to water meters, to ensure consistently high-water quality.

Through proactive network management and resilient engineering, we help ensure communities have safe, dependable water supplies every day.

What will you be doing?

This is a key leadership role, responsible for owning and driving a comprehensive programme focused on achieving operational excellence.

The Programme Manager will work closely with key stakeholders, including our client, customers, local authorities and internal teams.

Logistics will form part of this role to ensure we deliver efficient and cost-effective services ; you will control the operation of a transportation network to ensure goods are delivered to the right place at the right time.

You will identify and implement best practices, streamline processes, and deliver exceptional performance.

  • Develop and implement a robust operational excellence programme, aligned with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Define clear programme scope, objectives, timelines, and milestones.
  • Secure necessary resources and budget to support programme execution.
  • Track progress against key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on programme performance to senior management.
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including our client, customers, local authorities and internal teams.
  • Understand and address the needs and expectations of all stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify and resolve stakeholder issues and concerns.
  • Operational Excellence
  • Identify and implement process improvements across all operational areas, including areas that cover planning, operations, stores, plant, fittings and commercial
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Develop and implement best practices for operations, including safety, quality, and customer service
  • Logistics Management
  • Oversee and optimize the logistics function, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods and services.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Planning and Stores, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Manage inventory levels and optimize supply chain processes.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of operational professionals.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans to address potential disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations.
