A leading flooring subcontractor in Bedford has an opportunity for a Trainee Estimator or Estimator to join their commercial team. They are financially strong, expanding, and known for exceptional quality and service. This is a great role for someone who wants to learn, progress and grow in a fast‑paced commercial environment.
You will be joining a team of six, consisting of two Business Development Managers and four Estimators. Hybrid working is available after a training period.

They work with Tier 1 and Tier 2 Contractors and have a strong presence across London and the Home Counties.

Projects typically range between £5,000 and £2,000,000. This is a full‑time, office‑based role with regular site visits.
You will assist with and develop skills in:
- Reviewing drawings and specifications
- Quantity take‑offs
- Preparing estimates and costings
- Pricing bills of quantities and producing lump‑sum tenders
- Supplier and subcontractor enquiries
- Comparing quotations and supporting procurement
- Assisting with tender submissions
- Supporting contract administration and commercial reporting
- Carrying out site surveys 1–2 times per week
- Working on projects requiring security clearance
You will typically manage 7–8 live tenders at any one time, valued between £50,000 and £1.5m.
Working Hours: 8.30am – 5.00pm. Hybrid working available after a training period.
