Winter Maintenance Driver - HGV Class 2 (4M FTC)
Working hours: On call & Weather dependent - Evenings & Nights from 5-6pm as required (typically 5 hour shifts)
About the role
The Winter Maintenance Class 2 Driver position is essential for keeping roadways safe and accessible during winter.
This role involves operating gritter lorries, snowploughs and other equipment to clear roads, highways, and public areas of snow and ice, ensuring safe transportation.
You'll work primarily outdoors in various weather conditions, with call out hours based on weather demands.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 Driver's License and CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) are essential with a clean driving record.
- Certification in Snow and Ice Control Operations and/or Winter Maintenance Certification is advantageous.
- Experience in Operating Heavy Machinery or Snow Removal Equipment - training can be provided in early October to the successful candidate.
- Familiarity with Local Geography and Road Systems.
- Full, Clean UK Driving Licence.
- Pass Drug & Alcohol Test.
