We wish to appoint a motivated, committed and enthusiastic member of our Support Staff team. The post offers a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to work with an existing team of experienced professionals in a role which is wide ranging and for which the successful candidate will receive appropriate training and support.

The role will be based within the Inclusion Team and the primary purpose is to provide effective pastoral and academic support for students with SEND and other barriers to their learning and wellbeing. This may be through taught interventions and pastoral provisions with identified students or small groups and provisioning in class support in lessons. Occasionally, you may be asked to provide cover for classes in the absence of a teacher.

Wellacre Academy is an 11-16 all boys’ school set in the heart of Trafford. We have high expectations for all our students and our policies and practices are values driven. Alongside our lessons, we provide a rich and diverse co-curricular programme that develops character and inspires our students. Our Support Staff are encouraged to contribute to co-curricular provision.

We all work together to install a strong sense of belonging for all, which enables students to succeed and become active members of the community as they move into adulthood. We are committed to the professional development of all our staff. The TDT Gold Award report said, ‘All staff feel supported to grow and develop in their careers, which is testament to the way in which leaders are continually seeking out new challenges and responsibilities for individual members of staff based on their strengths and needs.’

There is an excellent induction programme for all new staff in addition to opportunities for further professional development.

We are keen to ensure that you have as much information as possible to proceed with your application. Therefore, if you would like a conversation about life at Wellacre or the position advertised, please contact Mr Phil Pemberton by email: ppembert@wellacre.org who will be happy to assist and answer any questions you may have.
