Following growth within the Trust we are looking to appoint a highly skilled Trust Repair & Maintenance Technician to cover our school sites in Devon. The core purpose of the role will be to ensure that our schools’ sites are well maintained and compliant in health, safety and estates management. You will be a part of our essential Estates Team ensuring that our buildings are maintained to a high quality and kept in a safe working condition. The role covers a number of varied tasks where skills in carpentry, fixing locks, electrical work, plumbing, drainage, painting and decorating are required.
What You’ll Be Doing
Providing an efficient maintenance service, carrying out work of a wide-ranging nature through the following areas:
- The planned Preventative Maintenance Programme (PPM)
- Breakdown and repair
- Possible alterations to services
- Skilled fault finding
- Testing and re-verification of services (subject to training)
- Possible installation of electrical systems, equipment and fixtures
- Report and upload documentation on the company compliance system (training provided)
- Deal with minor security/ safety issues in a timely manner
- Identifying and reporting major items for repair to the Premises Manager
- Responsible for monitoring and managing control of resources and stock levels
- Organising and overseeing contractors carrying out works on site

We need a proactive and organised individual with a commitment to excellence and a passion for maintaining safe and inspiring learning environments. You’ll need:
- Excellent experience in multiple trades, and with a strong working knowledge of Health & Safety policies and regulations
- A good understanding of COSHH and be confident to work within these constraints
- The ability to interact in both a friendly and professionally manner with staff, visitors, pupils and parents at all sites.
