KS3/4 Teacher in Torquay

This role offers a full-time, temporary to permanent opportunity starting in September 2026. The teacher will deliver engaging and well‑structured lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, supporting pupils with a range of needs to achieve positive outcomes. Duties:

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
• Adapt teaching to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities and learning profiles
• Create a positive, inclusive, and well‑managed classroom environment
• Support pupils’ academic progress and personal development
• Use assessment to monitor progress and inform teaching strategies
• Differentiating learning to support individual needs
• Maintain clear routines and high expectations for behaviour and engagement
• Work collaboratively with support staff and wider school teams
• Communicate effectively with colleagues regarding pupil progress and needs
• Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times

Ideal Candidate:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Experience teaching at Key Stage 3 and/or Key Stage 4
• Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
• Flexible, resilient, and adaptable teaching approach
• Ability to motivate and engage pupils who may be disengaged from learning
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to begin on a temporary basis with the opportunity to become permanent
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
