An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Band 7 Advanced Tissue Viability Nurse to join our specialist Tissue Viability Service within the North Central Division.
Working closely with the Specialist Lead, you will support the day-to-day delivery of the Tissue Viability service, providing expert assessment, management and evaluation of complex wounds across a range of community settings, including complex wound clinics, patients' homes and nursing homes across Barnet.
You will provide clinical leadership, promote evidence-based practice and support the wider multidisciplinary team through specialist advice, education and supervision. The role will also contribute to clinical audit, quality improvement and service development, helping to drive high standards of tissue viability care and improve patient outcomes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse with a passion for complex wound care and tissue viability to develop their advanced clinical and leadership skills within a supportive specialist team.
To support the Tissue Viability Team in the provision of a comprehensive advisory tissue viability service for patients, as an experienced clinical professional, empowered to make high level clinical decisions and who has high standards of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills (including assessment and diagnosis of tissue viability and related conditions).
To be responsible for the deployment, day-to-day management, supervision and co-ordination of designated junior staff.
Work with the specialist lead in the development and provision of training and education in all areas of Tissue Viability, working with key partners to support cascade education. Educational priorities to include leg ulcer and pressure ulcer management and prevention.
Supporting the specialist lead in service development and the transformation agenda whilst still maintaining clinical competency in the field of Tissue Viability.
To support and act as a resource for Tissue Viability Nurses and the wider health community including nursing and therapy.
To lead the provision of specialist advice, for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of tissue viability conditions, including related exacerbations, including advanced tissue viability techniques, and to develop specialist knowledge to be able to advise staff, patients and carers.
