We're recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing business for a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) to join their Engineering team in Doncaster.

Whether your background is mechanically or electrically biased, you'll play a key role in maintaining production equipment, reducing downtime and supporting continuous improvement across the site.

What's on Offer?

  • £45,615 annual salary (including 15% shift allowance)
  • Monday – Thursday: 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm / 10pm-6am
  • Friday: 6am-12pm / 12pm-6pm / 6pm-12am
  • 26 days' annual leave plus Bank Holidays
  • An additional day's holiday after 5 years' service
  • Buy or sell up to 5 days' holiday after your first full year
  • 7.5% employer pension contribution
  • Ongoing training and career development
  • No travel to other sites – you'll be based at the Doncaster site

The Role

The Role as a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll ensure production equipment operates safely and efficiently by carrying out planned preventative maintenance, responding quickly to breakdowns and supporting continuous improvement projects.

Key responsibilities include

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across production machinery.
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Maintaining conveyors, elevators, palletisers, packaging equipment and other production machinery.
  • Installing, servicing and modifying mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment performance and reliability.
  • Working closely with Production teams to minimise downtime and improve operational efficiency.
  • Completing maintenance records and ensuring all work complies with health, safety and quality standards.

About You

We're looking for candidates with

  • A recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or Engineering qualification (BTEC, ONC or equivalent).
  • Experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar.
  • Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Previous experience within manufacturing, FMCG or another fast‑paced production environment.
  • Experience of planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems, including pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • A proactive approach with excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, conveyors, packaging machinery or automated production equipment would be advantageous but is not essential.
