Zest Optical are working alongside a leading optical lens manufacturer to recruit a full time Optical Glazing Technician into their modern glazing laboratory based in Thornbury, South Gloucestershire.

Due to the size and structure of the business, there are excellent long-term career opportunities available, with the chance to develop your skills across different areas of the laboratory and progress into senior positions, including Team Leader roles.
- Working within a modern optical glazing laboratory environment
- Part of a large, experienced team with opportunities to learn from others
- Tracing frames and transferring shapes ready for glazing
- Blocking lenses to customer requirements
- Edging lenses using manual edgers
- Assembly of metal, plastic, supra and rimless frames
- Working on bespoke and specialist frame orders
- Checking completed orders to ISO standards and customer requirements
- Verifying lenses using optical equipment
- Prioritising orders based on delivery timescales
- Working closely with different departments across the lab
- Maintaining excellent standards of quality and accuracy

- Previous experience working within an optical glazing laboratory
- Experience with lens edging and glazing processes
- Good understanding of optical lenses
- Confident using a manual focimeter including marking up lenses
- Good knowledge of frame tracing

- Able to work accurately with prescriptions and order information
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload
