We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a motivated, enthusiastic and compassionate Band 3 Therapy Assistant to join our friendly and supportive Inpatient Therapy Team.
This role offers the chance to make a real difference to patients with a wide range of conditions and rehabilitation needs.
Working alongside Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, you will help deliver high-quality, patient-centred care, supporting patients to maximise their independence, mobility and participation in activities of daily living.
Clinically therapy assistants assist with delivering exercise programmes and rehabilitation interventions.
Non-clinical tasks include documentation, equipment management, data collection and administrative duties.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills who is adaptable, resilient and enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team in a busy inpatient environment.
As documentation is completed within electronic patient records, good written communication and IT skills are essential.
Previous experience in a healthcare would be beneficial but is not essential.
We welcome applicants with the right values and enthusiasm to learn.
Full training, supervision and development opportunities will be provided, including completion of Therapy Assistant Competencies.

- Provide both clinical and administrative support to the Inpatient therapy team
- Show initiative, motivation and excellent organisational ability when working closely with therapy staff to develop administrative support and systems for the therapy team.
- To work without direct supervision, but under the direction of a qualified staff member, in the performance of specific tasks for an individual or group/class as part of the treatment and rehabilitation programme.
- To use a range of verbal and non-verbal communication tools to communicate effectively with patients and carers.
- Post-holder will be expected, after appropriate training, to perform manual handling tasks.
- Demonstrate time management & prioritisation skills.
- Communicate to the therapists, and other members of the multi-professional team, changes in the patient's condition, response to intervention and relevant discharge plans.
- To provide cover for other Support Staff across the service during periods of absence.
- Required to work with their team on service development and quality assurance projects.
- Participate in 7-day service rota where appropriate.
