An exciting opportunity has arisen for registered nurses and operating department professionals (ODPs) to join our team in Theatres. The role offers the opportunity to work in a highly specialised Main Theatres with a range of specialties including General Surgery, Trauma & Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, upper GI surgery, Gynaecology, Urology, Oncology, Paediatrics, ENT, Maxillo Facial, Vascular, Plastic/Breast surgery, and Robotic Surgery.

We also offer our scrub practitioners the opportunity to gain qualification through specialism in Anaesthesia through a postgraduate certificate programme developed in collaboration with Perioperative Medicine Faculty. As a rotational practitioner, following a successful completion of your probationary period, you will undertake a six-month multi-professional Preceptorship programme in various specialities. This will be supported by our lead practitioners and experienced clinical practice facilitators.

You must be motivated and enthusiastic with a passion for high-quality patient care, as well as the ability to work well under pressure and flexibly as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Ensure a welcoming, caring, and safe environment, while promoting, maintaining, and monitoring standards in accordance with the guidelines of the NMC/HCPC and CQC.

As a Band 5 Scrub Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting patients throughout their perioperative journey, ensuring safe, high-quality care within the operating theatre environment. You will assist in preparing theatres for a wide range of surgical procedures, ensuring all specialist instruments, equipment, and medical devices are available and functioning effectively.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, under appropriate supervision. You will also support and guide junior colleagues, learners, and unregistered staff to maintain high standards of care and professional practice. You will be expected to organise and manage your own workload, contributing to the smooth running of the operating list and responding flexibly to the needs of the service.

You will develop your clinical skills across a variety of specialities and actively engage in learning and development opportunities. You will deliver individualised, evidence-based care to a diverse patient group, ensuring patient safety, dignity, and wellbeing at all times.
