Are you an experienced construction or estates professional looking to manage projects that make a real difference to patient care?
We are looking for a motivated Capital Project Manager to join our Estates Development and Technical Services (EDTS) team at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
You'll lead a varied portfolio of capital and backlog maintenance projects from initial feasibility through design, procurement, construction and handover, helping to improve healthcare environments across Berkshire.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on projects that directly support clinical services while developing your professional expertise within an Outstanding NHS Trust.
You'll collaborate with clinical teams, estates professionals, external consultants and contractors to deliver safe, compliant and high-quality healthcare facilities.
Based at St Mark's Hospital, Maidenhead, this is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week).
We support flexible working where service needs allow, including opportunities for hybrid working.
- Lead the delivery of capital and backlog maintenance projects from feasibility through to completion.
- Prepare surveys, feasibility studies, cost estimates, specifications and tender documentation.
- Produce and amend technical drawings using Auto CAD and associated design software.
- Manage contractors, consultants and project budgets, ensuring compliance with JCT/NEC contracts.
- Monitor construction works, quality, programme and commissioning activities.
- Work closely with clinical users and specialist stakeholders including Infection Prevention, Fire Safety, Building Control and Authorising Engineers.
- Ensure projects comply with statutory legislation, NHS guidance, HTMs, HBNs and Trust procedures.
- Support the maintenance of the Trust's Mi CAD estate information and occupancy systems.

The “must haves” for this role
- Experience of successfully managing construction or building projects through feasibility, design and delivery.
- Excellent technical knowledge of construction, building services and Auto CAD, together with experience of preparing technical specifications and contract documentation.
- Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- A full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle, together with a commitment to delivering high-quality projects that improve healthcare environments.
