We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Learning Support Assistant to join Landau. As a Bank LSA, you will provide high-quality support, mentoring, and guidance, helping learners from those who are struggling to those ready to stretch themselves to participate, achieve, and feel proud of their progress. By breaking down barriers, bringing creativity to sessions, and being a friendly, supportive presence, you’ll make every learner feel included, motivated, and excited about what they can achieve. As a leading supported employment and training charity, we support over 800 individuals each year across the West Midlands, including Telford and Wrekin, providing pathways to employment, access to education, and support for personal growth and independence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting and mentoring learners in classrooms, workshops, and the community
- Helping tutors adapt lessons and activities so every learner can achieve and feel confident
- Working 1-to-1 or in small groups to help learners overcome challenges and barriers
- Using creative strategies to engage learners and make sessions fun and inclusive
- Assisting with learner portfolios, assessments, and progress reviews
- Encouraging positive behaviour, teamwork, confidence-building, and goal achievement
- Providing pastoral support as a trusted and approachable contact for learners
- Supporting work experience placements and enrichment activities to prepare learners for life beyond the classroom
- Assisting with exam preparation, invigilation, supervision, and support during assessments
- Acting as a key worker for identified learners – celebrating progress and helping them reach their potential
