We are looking for new members of the Trust's established Moving and Handling Team. The successful applicant will work alongside the Moving and Handling Advisors, supporting the team to provide excellent training programmes focused on patient handling and high risk load handling skills for staff working at SaTH and in the wider Integrated Care System in Shropshire.

The successful applicant will have relevant experience of working in an acute clinical setting, or domiciliary care including care homes and nursing homes. The base will be The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.

We deliver classroom-based and workplace-based training, guidance and support with the aim of ensuring that our patients are handled in accordance with best practice, and that the risk of injury and ill-health to our staff members is reduced. This means that your work may take you into classrooms at PRH and RSH, supporting Trust and ICS staff members and students undertaking T-Levels and the ICS Healthcare Support Worker programme.

In addition, you will undertake tasks in Trust clinical and non-clinical workplaces with the aim of supporting excellent handling practices. You will join an established team of experienced Moving and Handling Advisors, who will fully support your development in post. We will support you to achieve appropriate teaching qualifications at Level 3, and expertise in patient-handling and load-handling via RoSPA training and ongoing continuing professional development.

We believe that compassionate care sits at the heart of everything we do. Every member of our team — clinical or non-clinical — plays a vital role in ensuring that patients, families, and colleagues are treated with dignity, empathy, and respect at all times. We expect all staff to demonstrate compassion not only through their words, but through their actions: by listening attentively, communicating clearly and kindly, and recognising individual needs, feelings, and circumstances of those in our care.

Effective communication is central to safe and high-quality healthcare. We value colleagues who take the time to understand others, explain information in a meaningful way, and respond to concerns with patience and understanding. By joining our team, you are committing to uphold these values — ensuring that every patient feels heard, respected, and valued, and that compassion is embedded in every interaction, every day.
