The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Manager to lead Tameside’s Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). This is a permanent position.

Tameside Children’s Social Care Services are looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated Team Managers to join our MASH. The role is pivotal in supporting the ongoing review and development of how children, young people and their families are provided with support when needs are identified. The role will also involve working with our partner agencies to strengthen arrangements for children, young people and their families.

You will be responsible for the support and supervision of Social Workers/Seniors Practitioners/Advance Practitioner Leads who work in the MASH. You will be responsible for decision making for children, young people and their families where unmet needs have been identified. The role is 36 hours per week. The post holder will report to the Service Unit Manager for MASH. You will primarily be based at Tameside One however there are some opportunities for hybrid working.

About You

  • Applicants will need to hold a social work qualification and be registered with SW England.
  • You will be passionate about improving outcomes for children, and confident in your decision making.
  • Substantial previous experience in the field of children’s Social Care Services (post ASYE).
  • You will hold excellent relationship building skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles and relevant legislation (Children Act, Working Together to Safeguard Children).
  • IT literate with experience using case management systems and Microsoft Office.

  • Relevant professional qualification for the job role at Level 6 or above AND a management qualification, AND

  • Maintained membership of a regulated body where this is a requirement to practice in the role where applicable, AND
  • Professional standards practised to the highest expected level.
