Christ Church Primary School and Nursery is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant with expertise in SEN and additional needs to join our supportive team. About the Role:
- As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will be a vital part of our team, helping children overcome barriers to learning and thrive both academically and personally.
- Your role will include:
- Working under the guidance of teachers to support learning in the classroom and, when needed, supervise classes for short-term, pre-planned cover.
- Delivering structured support for pupils, including contributing to Individual Education, Behaviour and Support plans and guided reading sessions.
- Supporting teachers with planning, assessment and accurate recording of pupil progress.
- Providing pastoral support; assist with pupils’ personal needs, first aid and wellbeing practises.
- Accompanying pupils on visits and extracurricular activities and help run out-of-class provision (breaks, lunchtimes) as required.
- Using ICT to support learning and help develop pupils’ confidence with technology.
- Encouraging resilience, independence, and confidence in our pupils.
- Contributing to the school’s high standards of behaviour and achievement.
This is a hands-on role where you will have direct impact on pupils’ learning and wellbeing every day, offering a meaningful chance to directly impact children’s lives and be part of a caring, forward-thinking school community.
About You:
- We are looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their learning journeys.
- Is patient, caring, and enthusiastic, with a positive and proactive attitude.
- Holds a Level 3 qualification (NVQ or equivalent) in supporting teaching and learning.
- Has experience working with children with additional needs, including communication challenges.
- Understands the primary curriculum and can adapt support to meet diverse pupil needs.
- Works well as part of a team and values collaboration.
- Has excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Holds high expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour.
