Summary

Our clients are looking for Highways Operatives to join their hardworking dedicated team in Tavistock.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team undertaking Highways repairs, ranging from Patching, Resurfacing, Potholes, Drainage, Footways and General Highway Maintenance.
  • Use technology (tablets/apps) to input safety data and maintenance records.
  • Drive/operate plant and equipment where trained, necessary for the day to day tasks set.
  • Take responsibility for vehicles/plant/materials in your charge.
  • Where appropriate provide direction/supervision of the work to less experienced operatives.

Essential Skills

  • Driving License ideally clean some points accepted
  • A commitment to Health and Safety.
  • Good communication skills and basic literacy and numeracy.
  • Ability to undertake a high level of manual work and work outdoors in all weathers.
  • CSCS Card.

Desirable Skills

  • Highways experience.
  • HGV licence.
  • New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA) not essential
  • Operative Accreditation Lantra 12D not essential

Rate of Pay

£12.71 per hour. Overtime at 150% after 40 hours.
