Your New Role

As a Solicitor within the Court of Protection team, you will work closely with experienced Partners, Deputies and senior lawyers while gradually developing responsibility for your own caseload.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Assisting with the management of Property and Financial Affairs Deputyship matters.
  • Managing your own caseload under appropriate supervision.
  • Preparing Court of Protection applications and annual Deputy Reports.
  • Supporting the day-to-day management of clients' financial affairs, including budgeting, payments and property transactions.
  • Assisting with the administration of Personal Injury Trusts.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, families, case managers, healthcare professionals and other professional contacts.
  • Working closely with paralegals and internal and external legal teams.
  • Attending client meetings and visits where appropriate.
  • Developing expertise in areas such as statutory wills, care funding and benefits.
  • Supporting business development and client relationship initiatives.

To be considered for this Court of Protection Solicitor opportunity, you will ideally have:

  • Qualified Solicitor status in England & Wales.
  • Between 0-3 years' PQE.
  • A genuine interest in Court of Protection Property and Financial Affairs work.
  • Excellent communication and client care skills.
  • The ability to build trusted relationships with vulnerable clients and professional contacts.
  • Strong organisational, drafting and analytical abilities.
