This role is offered on a part time basis of 15 hours per week, this means that candidates interested in working part time are encouraged to apply and will receive a salary on a pro rata basis.

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Acute Oncology Service Clinical Nurse Specialist Team. We are seeking a motivated, dynamic, proactive nurse to join our team of specialist senior nurses.

The team work collaboratively across the Organisation to develop and enhance the service to patients admitted to hospital with complications of cancer or its treatment. You will give advice, instigate investigations and implement patient care as appropriate to manage the acutely unwell oncology patient.

The post holder will be required to work autonomously as well as part of the immediate and larger team and will participate in the assessment, diagnostic testing and management of the acute cancer patients and promote the Acute Oncology Service via established educational activities.

You will be instrumental in the development and implementation of local and network wide management and treatment protocols and pathways. You will provide essential cross department liaison and communication to improve the patient’s journey and experience, reduce length of stay and when possible avert hospital admissions.
