Our Inclusion and Wellbeing team is dedicated to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and able to thrive. Working closely with colleagues across HR, business areas, staff networks, and external partners, the team leads on initiatives that promote equality, diversity, inclusion, and employee wellbeing across the organisation. The team provides expert advice and best practice on themes such as disability, reasonable adjustments, wellbeing support and workplace inclusion, using insight and workforce data to drive continuous improvement and support strategic decision-making.

Through collaboration, engagement, and innovation, the team helps shape an inclusive culture, delivers meaningful wellbeing initiatives, and ensures that inclusion is embedded in everyday business activities. Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:

  • To build and maintain constructive relationships across HR teams, Business Partners, SSa, the business, DfT and with external stakeholders, ensuring that Inclusion & Wellbeing is considered in all aspects of work.
  • To engage with internal and external stakeholders, customers and support groups on Diversity and Inclusion policy, while building strong relationships across HR teams, Business Partners, SSa, the business, DfT and external stakeholders, ensuring Inclusion & Wellbeing are embedded in all areas of work.
  • To translate equality legislation into practice to ensure DVLA meet statutory requirements.
  • To use D&I workforce information according to the strategy set out by the CS, implementing actions to continuously improve the business.
  • Producing communications in line with the communication strategy providing feedback on the effectiveness of that strategy.
  • To manage relationships with Staff Networks and Employability Skills Ambassadors to ensure a collaborative and strategic approach is taken to promote all aspects of wellbeing and inclusion.
  • To plan and co-ordinate the resources and activities of direct reports in order to deliver objectives.
  • To provide a source of knowledge on policy and legislation for others within and outside of HR.
  • To identify and research options for implementing wellbeing and inclusion initiatives in consultation with stakeholders and in line with best practice and to achieve value for money.
  • To seek buy-in and make recommendations on options to Directors.
