About The Role

Swansea University Sport is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Strength & Conditioning Coach to join its high-performance sport team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting student-athletes across a range of sports, helping them maximise performance, build resilience, and achieve their sporting potential.

The successful candidate will lead the design and delivery of evidence-based strength and conditioning programmes for individual athletes and teams. Working across gym, pitch, and pool environments, you will apply sport science principles to enhance physical performance, reduce injury risk, and support rehabilitation and return-to-play processes. You will be responsible for monitoring athlete development through testing, profiling, and performance analysis, using data to inform programme design and evaluate outcomes.

A key aspect of the role is collaboration. You will work closely with coaches, physiotherapists, medical practitioners, and other support staff to provide an integrated approach to athlete development. Building strong relationships with athletes, coaches, governing bodies, and external partners will be essential to ensuring a high-quality service that meets programme objectives and stakeholder expectations.

The role also involves supporting the operational delivery of performance sport programmes, including maintaining facilities and equipment, contributing to safe working practices, and assisting with reporting requirements for key partners and stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to support competitions, training camps, and events throughout the year, while also contributing to the development and supervision of internship programmes.

We are looking for an individual with excellent coaching, communication, and organisational skills who can effectively manage the demands of working across multiple sports and performance programmes. A commitment to continuous professional development, innovation, and athlete-centred practice is essential.

This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a thriving university sport environment, helping to foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and high performance.

If you are passionate about athlete development and enjoy working within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, we would welcome your application.
