Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Reverse engineering old designs and designing new iterations.
  • Design and development of devices and associated technologies.
  • Design and validate the next generation of products with a focus on manufacturability and BOM cost.
  • Reduce the BOM cost of the existing product through component choice and leveraging of supply chain.
  • Improve the manufacturability of products to reduce assembly and calibration time.
  • Improve the serviceability of the product to simplify service callouts.
  • Improve the reliability of the product.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Background within regulated sectors such as medical, automotive, aerospace, or similar environments desirable.
  • Modern PSU design, high power RF generation, power factor correction, embedded microcontrollers and wired communications.
  • EMC compliance, fault-tolerant product design, validation and verification of electronics and embedded software, and test jig development.
  • Working with UK and overseas contract manufacturers, hand soldering/rework, PCB design (Altium and Proteus), 60601 compliance documentation, and lab report writing.
